whining about "forever wars" is a silly, unserious argument. Sounds like some undergraduate potheads in my state university dorm in the 80s. Speculating about whether ISIS and AQ are real is also unserious. I don't know whether Afghan w/draw, versus deployment for a while longer of a force of several thousand is a good idea. That would require a detailed study of intelligence and counter-terror benefits derived from our presence and trends in Afghan governance. But that requires a more detailed and expert discussion.
Pull out of Afghanistan. There’s no point. They live to fight, Warlord is a job, and it doesn’t make us better or safer. The Afghans are a warrior culture and literally everything for them is war or a chance for it. The soft culture absurdities our “leaders” and “policy makers” push are dumb and dangerous.
If one was bored and wanted to see some correlation between our opioid epidemic and when we stopped burning their poppy fields it’s not hard to find. The base ingredient for opioids and illicit drugs like heroin is Persian poppy. Last I checked like 80-90 % of the WORLDS supply is grown there...Like many things drugs are manufactured and not made by PFM.
Endless wars are part of the corrosion were experiencing. Maiming our best and their families for what? We don’t even respect ourselves why would we respect our enemies?
Mudhuts, rock markers, treachery, opium, land mines, Warlords, beheadings, snipers, packs of feral dogs...Not much different from when Churchill wrote “The Malakand Field Force”. Would think our galaxy brains might of read it?
War should be for life not death. Our life their death. It’s killing the enemy not murdering them. Its protecting our way of life and ending threats to it. It’s respecting the enemy by taking them seriously and responding in kind. They should only be fought to protect our country and then it should be total. Make the opposition and any others who want a go to think twice.
Plenty of cultures in this world only respond to a butt strike to their head...Otherwise they think they are superior and act accordingly.
Pretty sure they knew where Bin Laden was at for awhile. 0 just needed a campaign pick me up. Let’s see almost all 9/11 attackers were Saudi. Bin Laden a Saudi. Check. Bomb Afghanistan. Wut?

This FP stupidity, the centralizing of political power , and the increase of the crime supply, is going to create the demand or an excuse for a real national police force...
