I'd love to know what you two think of the heavy left-wing breakdown of Reddit in general and how that seeps into wallstreetbets. The posts warning to not be political must be new, I lurked during the 400+ first wave, because most seemed openly democrat or leftist. Conservatives were harassed a little if they dared to espouse certain political thoughts about why certain things ("Trump would've stopped this!") were happening, like the crackdown of Robinhood on GME trading. Granted conservatives on there are by nature out of place (not big risk-takers) and a bit annoying for their lack of good memes or WSB fervor. But when Robinhood stopped trading, AOC announced a livestream on Twitch and Mark Cuban did an AMA. Big lefty names. Everyone was super excited about those things. Was that just natural tilt or just starving dogs begging for attention? Also David Portnoy really looked like a loser after his stint in WSB. Another mark against right-leaning folks on there. Paperhands get shredded!

However during the ecstasy of $300-400 and lots of media attention it was becoming a big love fest. You'd regularly see posts of people saying things like "did you see the Ben Shapiro video breaking this down?". The replies would be a general dislike of him or his politics but wide acceptance of more people know of the movement and some covert agreement on some of his wider points. It really was a populist movement happening right there. All seemed much more open to new things for a while. All were united against the elites and big corporations and even some doubt about big gov. Togetherness at the small scale will do that I suppose.

I have a theory that the wallstreetbets crowd, as Spencer and Jake hit on a little, is the over-educated white male group which turned their backs on Trump this last election. He never reached out to this group of obviously frustrated but ready young men. It frustrated me to see the crowds of women and minorities that Trump paraded out for the RNC. Even young Madison Cawthorn is in a wheelchair and thus ticked an intersectional box. It doesn't bother me that Trump had minorities or women, it bothered me he had no white men to speak of. He played the Left's game of skin color and gender and lost because of it. The Right should never be playing those games but he did and was therefore scared to say to those disenfranchised young white men that he was doing something for them. That he needed their support. He was so scared, MSM media finally digging the claws in the painful spot, of the brand of racism and white supremacy that he never talked to young white men again. SAD!

I hope whatever new Right springs up from the fall of Trump will remedy this oversight. It's a big demographic currently under siege on the Left side, disturbingly neglected on the Right side, and still worth fighting for.

Also good timing, GME is way up again and more solidly this time. Can't wait to hear what Jake and Spencer think of this newest wild ride.
