I agreed with you on every point you made. But could it be possible that the self-reflection did happen but the couple chose not to share it publicly?

A complete non-sequitur- one cannot extrapolate a failed marriage to performance in very different areas, such as professionalism, judgement, etc. It is worth examining the Gates' propensity to pre-determine solutions to major global problems without so much as a by-your-leave- blotting out the sun being the most extreme example. But their recent divorce should neither hasten nor retard our efforts to publish and critique their actions. FJM

They will both live to regret this choice to divorce after almost three decades. It doesn't get better after divorce. It's lonely and transactional, even when the transactions involve unimaginable wealth.
