I’m sure there are many good films but the one that came to mind immediately is Jean Renoir’s “This Land is Mine” (1943) with Charles Laughton, Maureen O’Hara and George Sanders. It’s about school teachers, Laughton and O’Hara, a collaborator, Sanders, and the resistance in Occupied France. The theme is the comfortable bourgeoisie forced to face totalitarians.

Having written this “Casablanca” and “Watch on the Rhine” also came to mind.
