If a world government did come to power, assuming it wasn’t particularly cruel or evil, would it be a good or bad thing? Under no circumstances would global governance be anything less than evil, no matter how it conducted itself. Governments are best when they are responsive to the needs and will of the people. Nations are composed of people who share a common bond, either of blood, creed, history, or allegiance. One-world government is definitionally opposed to the interests of nations in favor of an ideological commitment to the needs of Mankind, which is an abstraction. Government based on abstractions will necessarily be equalitarian and progressive, and massive, and therefore repressive.

Research "Agenda 21" and you will get an idea of just how insidious the infiltration into many countries (and the United States in particular) the One World Government concept has become and continues to be. And it would completely destroy the idea, much less the individual Freedoms, of Democratic Government. Distance destroys accountability...and so does population. Consider that in 1900 each member of the U.S.House of Representatives represented 30,000 citizens. Today each represents more than 720,000. To get the same representation today, the House would have to consist of 9,264 members. Now extend that disconnect to the entire world and it is clear that there would be no contingent of managable size that could demand accountability from and World Government. It would be a Dictatorship by bureaucracy.
