We are experiencing the human and individual freedom equivalent of the well-known "capturing wild pigs" scenario, albeit with just a squinch more transparency. Instead of the Fence for the pigs, we get the legal mandates limiting our freedom camouflaged as "safety" precautions to meet a declared threat of death. To support this, EVERY death, from whatever source, is a COVID death. If you had terminal heart disease, were 350 pounds and failing organs, caught the seasonal flu, had severe pneumonia coupled with asthma, etc., you were listed as a death caused by COVID. and then some Governor's sent elderly who had the disease to nursing homes so the numbers could rise even more. This simply supported the fear factor and eliminated any rational questioning of the power grab by government. Now that so many have gone through this exercise in manipulation and suspension of individual rights (with, not incidentally, no proof of any actual improved health safety and a proven delay in any development of herd immunity) the (I used to say "our" but that no longer is true) government at all levels is now salivating to make their assertion of power over individual lives that violates not just the specifics but the very goal of our Constitution permanent at worst and at their every whim at best. The one and only way to fight this is what some states are already doing: limiting or removing the dictatorial powers of State Governors. It is not a perfect solution, but it does require unity of state legislatures in order to enslave the population. We have just experienced a country wide parallel to the Japanese internment camps with the exception that we were interned in place. And millions of our citizens even now seem blissfully unaware...
I started reading this article and thought to myself "this is brilliant!" and so I was not surprised when I saw Spencer Klavan's photo as the author. Another great thinker, John Tamny, has an excellent new book ("When Politicians Panic") which makes its central theme the nonsense of the whole of idea of lockdowns: If it truly is a deadly disease people will, out of pure self preservation, restrict their movements and avoid crowds. This actually did happen before any lockdowns were imposed. But then the realization slowly dawned (no bodies in the streets (well, except in LA, but that's a different story), no hospital corridors full of the sick and dying etc...) that this wasn't the Bubonic Plague or Ebola, as the media was making it out to be. That's when the lockdowns needed to be imposed by force - to enforce a lie.
Communism is in power in DC and all gov bureaucracies with 3 letters including the CDC which has constantly LIED. It’s the left who has blood on their hands. FIGHT. PUSH BACK. DO NOT OBEY. They rule by fear. Let them fear us. God is on our side.
I am 76 and unhealthy. Because of that, every year when flu season is around, I self-isolate. Until 2020, I never wore a mask, but I stayed away from people because it was in my best interest to do so. Mandatory masking and isolation is a crime against our rights as citizens of America. Choosing to do so is very different from having to do so.
People have lost their minds over this thing. It should have been allowed to move through the population naturally. It would have created a Bell-Curve of effect. Only the very old and those with immune-suppressed systems or co-morbidities would have died. A few would never have been afflicted at all. That's how a Bell-Curve works. Those who chose to lock themselves inside for the first 6-8 months would have escaped the virus entirely, but would also not have received the benefit of antibodies, and could still get it. But Herd Immunity would have been achieved and those who stayed inside would be unlikely to get it because so few people would still be vulnerable to it. It would have taken far less than a year and we would be back to normal now.
The thing is even if the totalitarian Democratic Party loses big in the next two election cycles, the stinking GOP is just no different. Most of our current crop gauleiters and apparatchiks in the federal bureaucracy were either appointed by or tolerated by Donald Trump.
I have been free the entire time, because I've utterly rejected the nonsense since 16 days after it started.
