Thank you for this brilliant piece on which you so eloquently call out the state of the academy. As the mom of a student studying Latin and Greek in high school and seeing firsthand how these languages have developed his mind, his ability to think and to debate. Perhaps these schools should not only simply offer classical languages, but encourage students to take a class or two and think for themselves. An enriched mind is never a bad thing.

The ivy covered institutions are being revealed for the charlatans they have become through time. Truth requires diligence and honor.

Thanks Spencer for bringing this to my attention. I graduated from an American university in 2015 and even then the rot was already widespread. I can only imagine it has gotten worse in the last 6 years but I was not aware that things had gotten this bad.

All I can say is that this is a promising sign of creative destruction to comer. The university system has grown sclerotic and weak anyway. Let those of us who live by truth carry the torch forward, and perhaps plant the foundation for a newer, better way academy.

Cheers.

These elite Universities should be defunded. They do not deserve one dime of hard earned American tax payer monies. They take from China let them move to China.
