Those falsly claiming those titles are merely Public Relations hack involved in indoctrinating everyone to take direction, avoid challenging anyone in power, as well as anything remotely approaching independent thinking. The major reason that what you term "sus" prejudgment even exists is because schools long ago stopped encouraging challenging assumptions and existing attitudes and exploring alternatives. Now, alternative thinking and problem solving is deemed "triggering" and threatening to thed psyche of the young...they no longer have the education that equips them to argue for or against a position on the merits, so the poor snowflakes melt in any substantive argument. It is uncertain if the United States can recover from this.
