I find myself questioning what's the point of conservatism when we can't see basic things like this clearly for what it is. Nothing is being conserved. If David French is a conservative then I'm certainly not one.
This phony appeal to free speech is a fake argument, and indeed treats the Constitution like it's a suicide pact. I heard someone I know say exactly this a number of weeks back. You cannot have an agenda/ideology that undermines the fundamental tenets of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, while these CRT frauds use them to back their case when they don't agree with those documents anyway. They only are for it when it can be obfuscated to back their draconian, nihilistic, anti-American, deconstructionist, and iconoclastic agendas. It's never suppose to help us who actually agree with and to the core principles of the Constitution and DOI.
These principles only mean anything if they are a compact and contract between us all. If two "agree" on completely different constitutional principles, then we aren't in agreement at all. In fact, CRT openly insults and seeks to undermine these principles they claim the Constitution supports them on. Quite frankly I think this is gaslighting by them here.
Also, notice how this same false usage of the Constitution is used with issues like Big Tech, or any other institutional problem we're having during this civil war. The last year alone has shown this erasure of the Constitution, only to be used against us to have their way. Big Tech, and even cruise ships(vaccine passports and mandates), right now are suing DeSantis claiming "free speech", "private corporations", federal law(the CDC apparently makes federal law that can now override states, legislatures, and inalienable rights now), and such other claims. Then they use the phony talking points that they don't believe in for you and me, against us in the activist courts that twist and tie up the principles rooted in the Constitution in a judicial supremacist fashion.
Notice how they're using conservative and libertarian talking points to subdue and remove our rights and enslave the country. It just keeps going and going.
